The Measurement of Elasticity Coefficient--Young’s Modulus of the Zona Pellucida of Porcine Oocytes

Abstract: The mechanics property of the zona pellucida of porcine oocytes was investigated in this study. Under 39℃ conditions, the Young’s modulus of the zona pellucida, of porcine oocytes (n=76, 7 replicates in total) cultured in vitro for 44-48 hours and of which nuclear matured and not matured, were measured. The elasticity modulus of the zona pellucida of these oocytes is (1.43±0.29)×104 Pa. Also an computer software for measuring the Young’s modulus of the zona pellucida of oocytes was made.
