Review Process

  • Submission Received: Once a manuscript has been submitted through the online submission system, the editorial office conducts an initial screening to assess whether the manuscript aligns with the journal’s aims and scope, meets academic writing and formatting requirements, and includes the required copyright transfer agreement. At this stage, the manuscript is also screened for academic misconduct. Upon completion of the screening, an email will be sent to the email address registered in the submission system to inform the author of the screening outcome. If the manuscript passes the screening, it proceeds to the initial editorial review, and the author will be notified of the manuscript ID and the contact details of the handling editor. If the manuscript is rejected, the reasons for rejection will be provided in the notification email.

Initial Editorial Review: The section editor conducts a preliminary assessment of the manuscript in accordance with the publication criteria for the relevant subject area.

External Peer Review: At least two external reviewers evaluate the manuscript in terms of its originality, scientific rigor, and publication value. A double anonymous peer review process is employed.

Editorial Board Review: A member of the journal’s Editorial Board further evaluates the manuscript’s academic value and the external reviewers’ comments.

Revision: Authors revise and improve their manuscripts in response to the reviewers’ comments. When submitting a revised manuscript, authors must also provide a detailed, point-by-point response to the reviewers’ comments, explaining how each comment has been addressed. If the manuscript title or the order of authors changes, an updated copyright transfer agreement reflecting the changes must be uploaded.

Re-review: The revised manuscript undergoes further evaluation.

Editorial Processing: The responsible editor checks the manuscript’s textual content, figures and tables, references, and other elements, and standardizes them in accordance with the editorial office’s requirements.

Editorial Director’s Review: Manuscripts that have substantially met the publication requirements are submitted by the editorial director to the Editor-in-Chief for final review and a decision on publication.

Manuscripts that pass the Editorial Director’s Review are considered accepted for publication. They will be scheduled for publication in an appropriate issue following typesetting.

The review process typically takes no longer than three months. If you have any questions, please contact the editor responsible for your manuscript directly.
