Discussion of Naming for Two Subspecies of Oryza sativa L.

Abstract: The naming method of O. sativa L. subsp. indica Kato and O. sativa L. subsp. japonica Kato for O. sativa L. proposed by Kato was used internationally at the present, which was inexplicable in fact. In this paper, a multitude of naming methods of O. sativa L. subsp. were analyzed and compared. The classification of O. sativa L. subsp. hsien Ting and O. sativa L. subsp. keng Ting was scientific and appropriate, being worthy of uniform application.
