Call for Papers——Special Issue : Cotton Genomics, Biotechnology and Molecular Breeding
  • Submission deadlineFebruary 29, 2024

    Introduction

China reached a critical milestone in 1994 when it developed insect-resistant cotton with its unique intellectual property.  Chinese insect-resistant cotton is recognized as a key accomplishment in the country's biological breeding efforts, propelling the development of its cotton sector and significantly advancing the sustainability of Chinese agriculture.  Outstanding progress on cotton has been made in recent years in various areas, including multi-genome assembly, genome editing, mechanism of fiber formation, metabolite production and analysis, and genetic breeding.  Thus, we may perform a status evaluation of the current studies of cotton and give a solid theoretical foundation for the future by comprehending the significant research achievements in cotton genetics, biotechnology, and molecular breeding.

    Topics Covered

The Journal of Integrative Agriculture (JIA) is seeking contributions for a special issue on "Cotton Genomics, Biotechnology, and Molecular Breeding" to honor the 30th anniversary of China's successful production of insect-resistant cotton. Relevant topics may include:

    1. Cotton Genomics, Epigenomics, and Evolution

    2. Functional Genomics of Cotton

    3. Genome Editing in Cotton

    4. Biotechnology-Based Breeding in Cotton

    5. Advanced Techniques for Cotton Cultivation and Farming

    6. Enhancing Cotton Resistance to Pathogens, Pests, and Herbicides
