Progress in Research on Digital Image Processing Technology for Automatic Insect Identification and Counting

Abstract: As the rapid development of information technology, digitization, precision and intelligence are important characteristics for modern agriculture and automatic identification and counting of agricultural insects has become a hot research topic. Main methods and applications for automatic insect identification and counting by image processing technology were reviewed. The advantages and disadvantages of these methods were compared and the relevant problems and prospect were also discussed.
