Identification of the BTA8 gene reveals the contribution of natural variation to tiller angle in rice

摘要  理想株型在水稻品种改良中起到了重要作用。分蘖角度是影响水稻株型的核心要素之一。在此,我们报道了一个位于8号染色体调控水稻分蘖角度的基因BTA8。功能互补实验表明,小粒野生稻BTA8等位基因在日本晴背景下增加了分蘖角度。BTA8在各组织中呈组成型表达,其编码蛋白定位于细胞核和细胞质中。全基因组关联分析显示BTA8基因受到选择,且在调控水稻分蘖角度中发挥关键作用。BTA8-Hap1Hap4单倍型分别在粳稻和籼稻中被选择。研究结果为更好地理解BTA8调控水稻分蘖角度的作用提供了新见解,并为水稻株型改良提供了潜在的靶点。
