短视频农业信息采纳对农业绿色生产效率的影响

The Impact of Short-Video Agricultural Information Adoption on Agricultural Green Production Efficiency

【背景】在数字乡村建设和平台经济快速发展的背景下,短视频平台正逐渐成为农户获取农业信息的重要渠道。与传统依赖熟人网络、线下推广和主动搜索的信息获取方式不同,短视频平台借助算法推荐机制,将农业知识以视频化、场景化和持续推送的方式嵌入农户日常信息接触过程,并可能进一步影响其生产经营决策。【目的】本文从生产性应用视角出发,考察短视频农业采纳对农业绿色生产效率的影响,并分析数字素养的调节作用及其作用机制。【方法】基于2023年在黑龙江、吉林、内蒙古和河北4省(自治区)北方春播玉米主产区开展的玉米种植农户调查数据,获得有效样本1 286份。采用包含非期望产出的SBM模型测算农户农业绿色生产效率(agricultural green production efficiency,AGPE),将农户是否把短视频平台算法推荐的农业信息实际应用于病虫害防治、施肥用药、田间管理、投入采购、品种选择和销售定价等生产经营决策界定为“短视频农业采纳”,构建回归模型检验其对AGPE的影响,并通过调节效应模型和中介效应模型考察数字素养的调节作用及绿色生产行为的中介作用,进一步结合异质性分析、倾向得分匹配模型和工具变量法进行稳健性检验。【结果】(1)短视频农业采纳能够显著提升农户AGPE,在控制户主特征、家庭禀赋、生产经营条件、外部环境变量及省份固定效应后,该结论仍然稳健;(2)数字素养具有显著正向调节作用,即数字素养越高,短视频农业采纳对AGPE的促进作用越强;(3)绿色生产行为发挥部分中介作用,中介效应占总效应的比例约为13.0%,说明短视频农业采纳能够通过促进绿色技术应用扩展提升AGPE;(4)从系数大小和显著性看,短视频农业采纳对高数字素养农户和低兼业农户的促进作用相对更强,在不同经营规模农户中均表现出显著正向作用,体现出一定普惠性;(5)采用工具变量法处理潜在内生性后,核心结论依然成立。【结论】短视频平台已逐步成为农户获取农业知识和优化经营决策的重要信息渠道。真正影响AGPE的关键,并非农户是否一般性接触短视频,而在于其是否将平台推荐的农业信息转化为实际生产经营决策。短视频农业采纳能够显著提升农户AGPE,绿色生产行为是其重要实现路径,数字素养则是影响平台信息能否转化为效率收益的关键条件。

Abstract:

【Background】With the rapid development of digital rural development and the platform economy, short-video platform is becoming an important channel through which farmers obtain agricultural information. Unlike traditional information channels that rely on acquaintance networks, offline extension, and active searching, short-video platforms embed agricultural knowledge into farmers’ daily information exposure through algorithmic recommendation, visual presentation, and continuous content delivery, thereby potentially affecting their farm production and management decisions.【Objective】From the perspective of productive use, this study examined the impact of short-video agricultural information adoption on agricultural green production efficiency (AGPE) and further explored the moderating role of digital literacy and the underlying mechanism.【Method】Based on survey data collected in 2023 from maize farmers in the major spring maize-producing areas of Heilongjiang, Jilin, Inner Mongolia, and Hebei, this study obtained 1,286 valid samples. Farmers’ AGPE was measured using an SBM model with undesirable outputs. Short-video agricultural information adoption was defined as whether farmers actually applied agricultural information recommended by short-video platforms to farm production and management decisions, including pest control, fertilization and pesticide use, field management, input procurement, variety selection, and sales pricing. Regression models were used to estimate its effect on AGPE, while moderating-effect and mediating-effect models were employed to test the moderating role of digital literacy and the mediating role of green production behavior. Heterogeneity analysis, propensity score matching, and an instrumental variable approach were further used for robustness tests.【Result】(1) Short-video agricultural information adoption significantly improved farmers’ AGPE, and this finding remained robust after controlling for household head characteristics, family endowments, production and operating conditions, external environmental factors, and provincial fixed effects. (2) Digital literacy exerted a significant positive moderating effect, indicating that the positive effect of short-video agricultural information adoption on AGPE was stronger among farmers with higher levels of digital literacy. (3) Green production behavior played a partial mediating role, with the mediating effect accounting for about 13.0% of the total effect, suggesting that short-video agricultural information adoption improved AGPE partly by promoting the application of green technologies. (4) The promoting effect was relatively stronger among farmers with higher digital literacy and lower levels of off-farm employment, while remaining significantly positive across different farm sizes, indicating a certain degree of inclusiveness. (5) The core findings remained valid after potential endogeneity was addressed using an instrumental variable approach.【Conclusion】Short-video platforms have gradually become an important information channel for farmers to acquire agricultural knowledge and optimize farm production and management decisions. What matters for AGPE is not merely whether farmers are exposed to short videos, but whether they translate platform-recommended agricultural information into actual farm production and management decisions. Short-video agricultural information adoption could significantly improve farmers’ AGPE. Green production behavior was an important pathway through which this effect was realized, while digital literacy was a key condition determining whether platform information could be transformed into efficiency gains.
