1. Dynamics of organic carbon and nitrogen in deep soil profile and crop yields under long-term fertilization in wheat-maize cropping system

该研究系统阐述了长期不同施肥对土壤剖面SOC和N库的影响,通过冗余分析了SOC团聚体组分及影响因素,三维表面分析深入理解剖面SOC和N库对作物产量的影响。与化肥处理相比,长期施用有机肥通过增加表土层 (0–20 cm)SOC输入、SOC储量、TN储量和土壤pH值来提高作物产量。不同施肥处理的SOC团聚体组分存在差异,所有处理SOC团聚体组分高低依次为矿物结合有机碳(mSOC)>粗自由颗粒有机碳(cfPOC)>物理保护有机碳(iPOC)>细自由颗粒有机碳(ffPOC)。施用有机肥处理的所有SOC组分含量均显著高于化肥处理。在不同SOC团聚体组分中,ffPOC对不同施肥处理的敏感性最高。单施有机肥(M)和有机无机肥配施(NPKM)显著提高了表层(0-20 cm)SOC和TN含量,与化肥处理相比,M和NPKM处理降低了深层土壤(80-100 cm)中的SOC和N含量,有利于减少养分垂直流动,从而减少养分的淋溶损失。

近年来,随着国际贸易的快速扩张,全球茶叶消费显著增长。然而,现有的文献却缺乏对全球主要茶叶市场融合的系统研究。本研究实证分析了2012年到2019年间世界主要红茶拍卖市场的每周价格序列。研究结果表明,经管存在异质性,世界主要红茶拍卖市场是融合的。这一结论不仅适用于区域性的茶叶市场,也适用于国际性的茶叶市场。该研究结论对以数百万小农为主的茶叶主产国具有重要政策含义。

猪是全球重要的家养动物,以骨骼肌的形式为人类重提供蛋白质。为了研究长链基因间非编码RNA(LincRNA)在猪骨骼肌发育中的功能,我们收集猪胚胎发育期间背最长肌(LDM)的RNA-seq数据,并坚定了739条lincRNA转录本,这些转录本分布在除Y染色体外的所有染色体上。然后我们对鉴定的lincRNA的分子特征进行分析,相比于蛋白编码基因,lincRNA具有较短的转录本长度、较长的外显子长度、较少的外显子数目及较高的组织特异性。除此之外,我们还对lincRNA在5个胚胎发育时期的表达丰度进行分析,鉴定了45个差异表达的lincRNA,其中有3个差异表达的lincRNA在不同的胚胎发育期均差异表达。最后我们对lincRNa的潜在靶基因进行预测,共鉴定了1537个顺式作用的靶基因及8571个反式作用的靶基因。结合上述结果我们鉴定了两个参与骨骼肌发育的关键候选lincRNA:XLOC_024652XLOC_001832。本研究在全基因组水平鉴定猪胚胎期骨骼肌发育过程中可能涉及的lincRNA,为进一步研究lincRNa的功能及猪的遗传育种提供有价值的素材。

4. A genetic diversity assessment of starch quality traits in rice landraces from the Taihu basin, China

There are nearly 1 000 rice landrace varieties in the Taihu basin, China. To assess the genetic diversity of the rice, 24 intragenic molecular markers (representing 17 starch synthesis-related genes) were investigated in 115 Taihu basin rice landraces and 87 improved cultivars simultaneously. The results show that the average genetic diversity and polymorphism information content values of the landraces were higher than those of improved cultivars. In total, 41 and 39 allele combinations (of the 17 genes) were derived from the landraces and improved cultivars, respectively; only two identical allele combinations were found between the two rice variety sources. Cluster analysis, based on the molecular markers, revealed that the rice varieties could be subdivided into five groups and, within these, the japonica improved rice and japonica landrace rice varieties were in two separate groups. According to the quality reference criteria to classify the rice into grades, some of the landraces were found to perform well, in terms of starch quality. For example, according to NY/T595-2002 criteria from the Ministry of Agriculture of China, 25 and 33 landraces reached grade 1, in terms of their apparent amylose content and gel consistency. The varieties that had outstanding quality could be used as breeding materials for rice quality breeding programs in the future. Our study is useful for future applications, such as genetic diversity studies, the protection of rice variety and improvment of rice quality in breeding programs.

5. Changes in Organic Carbon Index of Grey Desert Soil in Northwest China After Long-Term Fertilization

Soil organic carbon (SOC), soil microbial biomass carbon (SMBC) and SMBC quotient (SMBC/SOC, qSMBC) are key indexes of soil biological fertility because of the relationship to soil nutrition supply capacity. Yet it remains unknown how these three indexes change, which limits our understanding about how soil respond to different fertilization practices. Based on a 22-yr (1990-2011) long-term fertilization experiment in northwest China, we investigated the dynamics of SMBC and qSMBC during the growing period of winter wheat, the relationships between the SMBC, qSMBC, soil organic carbon (SOC) concentrations, the carbon input and grain yield of wheat as well. Fertilization treatments were 1) nonfertilization (control); 2) chemical nitrogen plus phosphate plus potassium (NPK); 3) NPK plus animal manure (NPKM); 4) double NPKM (hNPKM) and 5) NPK plus straw (NPKS). Results showed that the SMBC and qSMBC were significantly different among returning, jointing, flowering and harvest stages of wheat under long-term fertilization. And the largest values were observed in the flowering stage. Values for SMBC and qSMBC ranged from 37.5 to 106.0 mg kg-1 and 0.41 to 0.61%, respectively. The mean value rank of SMBC during the whole growing period of wheat was hNPKM>NPKM>NPKS>CK>NPK. But there were no statistically significant differences between hNPKM and NPKM, or between CK and NPK. The order for qSMBC was NPKS>NPKM>CK>hNPKM>NPK. These results indicated that NPKS significantly increased the ratio of SMBC to SOC, i.e., qSMBC, compared with NPK fertilizer or other two NPKM fertilizations. Significant linear relationships were observed between the annual carbon input and SOC (P<0.01) or SMBC (P<0.05), and between the relative grain yield of wheat and the SOC content as well (P<0.05). But the qSMBC was not correlated with the annual carbon input. It is thus obvious that the combination of manure, straw with mineral fertilizer may be benefit to increase SOC and improve soil quality than using only mineral fertilizer.

Agricultural information cooperative services (AICS) are now becoming an important aspect of agriculture informatization. This study offers an ontological conception of the agricultural production process, establishing operational divisions corresponding to both the stages and the fundamental information requirements of the dairy industry production process in China, yielding a process ontology for the dairy industry as well as a business chain model. A framework for a dairy industry information cooperative service system was established, with service functions realized in a prototype system. The resulting agricultural process ontology built on the basis of biological characteristics has advantages as a classification standard for agricultural information; whereas the business chain model based on this agricultural process ontology allows for an effective distribution of agricultural information cooperative services. This study outlines a concept and demonstrates a prototype of a cooperative service capable of integrating diverse online agricultural information relevant to the dairy industry in China.

Four strains of the Q biotype and one of the B biotype of the whitefly Bemisia tabaci collected from China were characterised for resistance to four neonicotinoid insecticides and pymetrozine. Q biotype strains showed moderate to strong resistance to imidacloprid, thiamethoxam and acetamiprid, but little or no cross-resistance to dinotefuron. Resistance to neonicotinoids was consistently associated with resistance to pymetrozine, despite the latter having a distinct (though unresolved) mode of action. The single B biotype strain proved largely susceptible to all the insecticides investigated. Resistance in the Q biotype strains was associated with over-expression of a cytochrome P450 monooxygenase gene, CYP6CM1, whose substrate specificity presumably accounts for the observed cross-resistance profiles.

8. Effects of Chemical Components on the Amount of Green Tea Cream

The relationship between the amount of tea cream and the chemical components contents in the original green tea infusion was investigated. The results showed that the amounts of tea cream in the green tea infusions obtained from different cultivars and different parts of new shoots were varied. There were many chemical components participating in the formation of green tea cream. However, there were only the contents of caffeine (Y=0.85, P<0.01) and polyphenols (Y=0.65,P<0.05) in the original green tea infusion highly correlated with the amount of green tea cream. Stepwise regression analysis of overall chemical components indicated that the contents of caffeine and gallated catechins in the original green tea infusion had a significant effect (P<0.01) on green tea cream levels. Cream (g L-1)=-172.071+ 0.129 x Ccaffeine+0.024xGgallated catechins (R2=0.936). The amount of green tea cream can be predicted by the contents of gallated catechins and caffeine in the original tea infusion. Principal component analysis also indicated that catechins, minerals, and polysaccharides were the important chemical components in the formation of green tea cream.
